Down the Pipe & Natty Lite - Episode 8: Preseason Ranking, Black Jerseys, and David Montgomery’s Magicalness

First off, we talked to Kyle (@FranchiseKF) from Devy Fantasy Football about how he first discovered David Montgomery, and what DM’s draft stock looks like right now. We also talked about Hakeem Butler, who has emerged as one of Iowa State’s best pro prospects.

This past week Iowa State was picked to finish 7th in the conference, much to the displeasure of Levi, Cole, and Marchie. We discussed where we think Iowa State should have been picked, and what the rest of our preseason Big 12 rankings look like.

However, the biggest news of the week was the unveiling of three new uniforms for this fall, including an all-black one. We talk about our favorites from the set, what we would have liked to see, and what combination we’re most looking forward to seeing on the field. We also discussed all the hate and vitriol we saw on social media from Iowa fans who seem to believe that they were the first people to ever use black uniforms.

We also discussed what having two top ten running back commits in Breece Hall and Jirehl Brock will mean for the running back room and the program going forward.

Lastly, we gave our predictions for Sunday’s World Cup Final.
