Sound the sirens!

Matt Campbell has landed a big time recruit. 4-star running back Jirehl Brock has committed to Iowa State.

Brock, the 11th rated running back in the 2019 class, held offers from Notre Dame, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and others. He took official visits to Northwestern and Minnesota. Brock at one point was thought to land in Iowa City, but his official visit was abruptly canceled and Iowa went another way at the running back position.

Brock has had a long relationship with running backs coach Nate Scheelhaase since he offered him during his time coaching at Illinois, and the relationship has grown since his move to Ames. The Iowa State coaching staff compares Brock to the likes of David Montgomery, how he runs the ball as well as his attitude on and off the field.

Iowa State is now poised to have one of the best running back classes in all of the 2019 class with the addition of Brock along side Breece hall and athlete Leonard Glass. With plenty of time left to recruit for 2019, Iowa State has plenty of big targets left on the board in what is setting up to be one of the best recruiting classes in Iowa State history.
