Baby steps
We went 1 for 2 last week, holding onto our funds for the first time in three weeks. This Big 12 thus far has been hard to figure out, and pinpoint which teams are going to show up.
OU should have slaughtered KU (only won by 25), Okie State laid an egg at Texas Tech (losing by 10), and maybe we under-estimated Baylor, (handily beat K-State on the road). The good thing is ISU took care of business against TCU, and even covered the over/under ON THEIR OWN with 49 points.
While the Cyclones are only 3-2 against the spread on the young season, they have beaten Vegas’s numbers by the largest margin, covering by an average of 6.7 points per. Other than Gundy’s Cowboys, (5-1 ATS), everyone else is nearing that .500 mark. Oh, and KU is at the bottom of the barrel at 2-4.
There are only three Big 12 games this week, as all four losers from last week rest up. Oklahoma State and Kansas both get much-needed BYEs, as well as Kansas State and TCU.
Here is Week 7 of Betting the Big 12
SATURDAY October 12th GAMES
Texas Tech (3-2, 1-1) at #22 Baylor (5-0, 2-0) | 3:00 P.M. | Baylor -9

We may have underestimated this Baylor squad. Matt Rhule has his boys starting the season at 5-0, and while their only legitimate win is against ISU, they are still undefeated. This will be another good test, but playing at home should create an advantage for the Bears.
Charlie Brewer was knocked out of last week’s game after a big hit, but hopes to be back. Texas Tech is still without starter Alan Bowman, but backup signal-caller Jet Duffey came into his own last week, with 424 passing yards and FIVE total touchdowns in an upset win against Oklahoma State.
Nothing would surprise me in this game. I could see BU’s defense shut down TT, and I could see the Red Raiders put up 40+. Either way, I think Baylor is the better team and should take care of business at home. If you put a gun to my head I would lean towards the Red Raiders.
Here are my best bets for Week SEVEN of the 2019 Season
Iowa State (3-2, 1-1) at West Virginia (3-2, 1-1) | 3:00 P.M. On ESPN | ISU -9.5
Brocktober is upon us as ISU seemed to have turned the corner with an impressive victory against TCU last week. The defense shut down the Horned Frog’s vaunted running game, and Purdy and the boyz put up 49.
West Virginia lost to Texas by 11, but put up a fight behind QB Austin Kendall, who threw 3 TD’s, but also 4 INTs. The Mountaineers have been a tough team to figure out, struggling to beat James Madison and KU, but also beating NC State.
This line has already moved up from 7.5 to 9.5, and I expect the sharps to continue to lay money on the Clones. I’m all in on Iowa State. Playing on the road shouldn’t matter, as this WVU squad simply can’t hang with em. Give me the Cyclones for $50k and I will eat the 9.5 points.
#6 Oklahoma (5-0, 2-0) vs. #11 Texas (4-1, 2-0) in Dallas, TX | 11:00 A.M. on FOX | OU -10
The game of the Week in ALL of College Football, as the Red River Rivalry, Shootout, er Showdown pits two goliaths against each other. Both offenses will overpower each respective defense, and I expect OU’s Jalen Hurts to create more highlights for his Heisman PR campaign.

Texas is knocking on the door, and this one can put them over the top. They have a LOT more to play for, and I expect Tom Herman and his squad to be ready. The Sooners continue to put up video game stats, and will keep doing so against this overrated Longhorn defense.
Expect a shootout, as the over/under is 75, but the spread is right where it should be. With this being a rivalry game, you have to choose the underdog.
Give me the OVER at 75 for $100k.
