Bacon Bits: Iowa State Football Recruiting Notes

A few crootin’ nuggets

Hey Cyclone fans, I hope you are hungry. Hungry for some bacon because who the hell isn’t always hungry for bacon? Ok, it isn’t real bacon, but this is my feature for Iowa State football recruiting tidbits I have during the week. Anything on my mind or anything that doesn’t go on my recruiting big boards will be posted here as “Bacon Bits”. Whether you like it crispy, chewy or somewhere in-between. There is always something for everyone.

There wasn’t a ton of news from this past week but there were four brand new offers that went out. I will speak with all of them about their offers and there was also a preferred walk on offer taken up as well.

Preferred Walk-On

Last week, Jack Tiarks (Underwood, IA) accepted his preferred walk-on offer as he will continue his football career at Iowa State. Jack is considered as an inside linebacker. Here’s what Jack told me about his decision. “I think just the type of people in the program, they are all such great people. I formed so many great relationships and I just saw Iowa State as being my home for the next four to five years.”

New Offers

This past week, Iowa State put out four 2021 offers to players from Ohio and Florida. Here is what those players had to say about Iowa State and their new offer.

3-Star SDE Hammond Russell (Dublin, OH): Hammond already has a few other offers from schools such as Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, Akron, Bowling Green before his Iowa State offer. Hammond told me that his Iowa State offer was “A great offer and I am very excited about it because I have been watching they last few years and I love coach Heacock. I have built a great relationship with him and I love the defense.”

CB Jordan Oladokun (Tampa, FL): Jordan had a few group of five offers but this is his first power five offer. He said, “Iowa State is awesome. I don’t really know much about the school but it’s big time football.” He also mentioned that he would like to take a visit to Ames in the offseason.

3-Star SDE Jack Pugh (Hilliard, OH): I didn’t get to talk with Jack very much and he told me that “I am very excited about the offer. I love the program.” He currently has other offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo and Pittsburgh.

3-Star CB Jordan Young (Tampa, FL): Even though Jordan has offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida and Florida State, he told me that “My cousin Ezeriah Anderson goes there and my former seven on seven teammate Kym-Mani attends Iowa State and I have heard nothing but great things.”
