A few questions as we passed the midway point of the season:
- Can anyone dethrone Oklahoma?
- Will the real Texas Longhorns please stand up?
- Can Baylor keep this up?
- Is Kansas turning a corner ready for basketball season?
On to the show!

One more game this month to round out yet another perfect Brocktober ... but don’t get caught looking ahead. The Cowboys are looking for a way to jump start their disappointing season thus far, and an upset in Ames would do just that.

4. Texas (5-2, 3-1; defeated Kansas 50-48)
Last Week’s Ranking: 4
To say last week’s struggle against the lowly Jayhawks was a surprise is an understatement, but it’s key that teams win games, even when not at their best. Assuming, of course, there wasn’t anything more sinister going on.
This Week: at TCU (3-3, 1-2)
5. Kansas State (4-2, 1-2; defeated TCU 24-17)
Last Week’s Ranking: 9

This week: vs. Texas (5-2, 3-1)
7. Oklahoma State (4-3, 1-3; lost to Baylor 45-27)
Last Week’s Ranking: 5
The Cowboys are reeling after yet another loss, and now hit the road for a tough matchup in Ames. That, of course, provides a perfect platform for the mullet to rant.

8. Texas Tech (3-4, 1-3; lost to Iowa State 34-24)
Last Week’s Ranking: 7
Soft tacos, anyone? The final score of last week’s game isn’t indicative of how seemingly one-sided it truly was. Plenty to clean up prior to this week’s tilt against Kansas.
This Week: at Kansas (2-5, 0-4)
9. West Virginia (3-4, 1-3; lost to Oklahoma 52-14)
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
The Mountaineers weren’t expected to do much last week, so it was impressive they were only down 14 at the half. It’s a good week for them to rest up before heading to Waco on Halloween.
This Week: Bye
10. Kansas (2-5, 0-4; lost to Texas 50-48)
Last Week’s Ranking: 10
Here’s to moral victories!
