After sustaining a season-ending leg injury requiring surgery in the Baylor game, senior defensive end JaQuan Bailey is planning to redshirt and return for the 2020 season. Under the old redshirt rule, Bailey would have had to try to obtain a medical redshirt in order to return, but since he only played in four games he can utilize the new redshirt rule to his advantage since he played as a true freshman.
Here’s what the position group could potentially look like in 2020, as of right now:
Two-Deep
Jaquan Bailey
Zach Petersen
Enyi Uwazurike
Will McDonald
Rotation Players
Cordarrius Bailey
Corey Suttle
Blake Peterson
Tucker Robertson
Special Teams/Situational
Connor Greene
Dan Sichterman
Incoming Freshmen (as of 10/28/19)
Johnny Wilson
Obviously, a lot of this could change depending on how players progress in the offseason, attrition, future commitments, etc., but as it stands, that is an extremely potent group of defensive ends that should continue to create havoc in the backfield.
