Hey Cyclone fans, I hope you are hungry. Hungry for some bacon because who the hell isn’t always hungry for bacon? Ok, it isn’t real bacon, but this is my feature for Iowa State football recruiting tidbits I have during the week. Anything on my mind or anything that doesn’t go on my recruiting big boards will be posted here as “Bacon Bits”. Whether you like it crispy, chewy or somewhere in-between.
This past weekend, Iowa State hosted a few football recruits. We had two players get offered full scholarships and two others receive preferred walk-on offers. There weren’t many players on campus this past weekend, but here is what I have gathered so far.
Preferred Walk-On Offers
Ethan Prodzinski: Ethan is a 2020 Offensive Tackle out of Winona, Minnesota who visited on Saturday. I will keep tabs on him to see if he will take the offer up or take one of his small school offers.
Kaden Sutton: Kaden is a 2020 Offensive Guard/Defensive Tackle out of Adel, Iowa. Kaden was on campus on Saturday and appeared to have a great time. I will keep tabs on him to see if he will take up the offer.
New Offers
2021 LB Tyler McLaurin (Bolingbrook, IL): On Saturday, Tyler got the chance to visit Iowa State as he received his offer and he was able to tell me plenty about his experience in Ames.
“The visit went really well. I got to see how the team is handled and the type of environment that they players and coaches create. I think my favorite part was just seeing the fun and attitude of every fan that electrified the stadium. The band and student section electrified the stadium to the point where you had to notice. When I got the offer, I was in front of Coach Campbell and I didn’t want to show too much emotion but the moment I was alone with mt dad and uncle, I started smiling a lot.”
2022 WR Jerry Cross (Milwaukee, WI): Jerry is a 6’6 wide out from the 2022 class and while he is still young, his measurables are something the staff really likes. I didn’t get a chance to speak with him, but I will try to in the next couple of days.
