Betting the Big 12: Week 13 Edition

Three Weeks of Consecutive Winning Weeks, Hop on For the Ride!

That’s right – three straight weeks of making money! Baylor covered their 9 points last week, and while they should have beat OU, just completely pissed one down their leg.

Somehow, amazingly West Virginia went on the road and beat K-State, and everybody else took care of business.

But this is how I felt during the fourth quarter of the Iowa State-Texas matchup…

We are finally figuring out which teams are contenders, and who are pretenders. All 10 teams are in action in week 13 of the College Football Season.

Here is Week 13 of Betting the Big 12

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 23rd GAMES

Kansas (3-6, 1-5) at #23 Iowa State (6-4, 4-3) | 11:00 A.M. on FSN | ISU -24.5

The Cyclones are bowl-eligible AND come off a dramatic finish, finally getting the monkey off their back against Texas. Iowa State will honor 20 seniors for their final games in Jack Trice, and look to improve upon their offensive record-breaking 2019 season.

Kansas has been as up and down as they come, so you never know which team will show up on Saturday. They have lost their last two games by a combined 46 points, but beat Texas Tech and lost to Texas by 2 the weeks before that.

Either way - ISU wins, I just don’t know if it will be by as many points as Vegas thinks so. Honestly, I would lean towards KU with the 24.5 points.

Texas (6-4, 4-3) at #14 Baylor (9-1, 6-1) | 2:30 P.M. On FS1 | Baylor -5.5

The Baylor Bears finally decided they would be human, and lose a game. Even after leading OU 28-3, they somehow let the Sooners come all the way back, and lost at home in Waco.

Well, there is another tough task in town, as Texas is coming off a loss, and is 11-2 under Herman after a previous week’s defeat. Sam Ehlinger and company made some tremendous adjustments against ISU at halftime, and the Longhorns appear to finally be healthy.

Hard to say how this game will turn out, but I think Matt Rhule and company will pull it back together and beat the Longhorns on their home turf. Your guess is as good as mine.

TCU (5-5, 3-4) at Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1) | 7:00 P.M. on Fox | Oklahoma -19

Has Lincoln Riley lost control of his team? This OU program was outscored 51-10 in 3 of their last 5 quarters of football, and have been quite lucky lately.

Is it time for that to change? I wouldn’t go that far, especially with true freshmen Max Duggan at the helm for TCU. I still think Gary Patterson is a fantastic coach, but it will be hard for him to compete against this vaunted Sooner offense.

OU wins, and with a gun to my head I would take TCU, but my confidence level is lacking.

Here are my best bets for Week THIRTEEN of the 2019 Season

Kansas State (6-4, 3-4) at Texas Tech (4-6, 2-5) | 6:00 P.M. on FS1 | Texas Tech -2.5

Wooftah. Both of these teams are falling off a cliff, but it’s clear to me who the better program is.

Tech lost a close one to TCU last week, while K-State somehow lost to WVU at home. I think the Red Raiders keep the margins tight, but I got to lean towards the Wildcats in this one.

I’ll take K-State for $100k and the 2.5 points they are getting.

#21 Oklahoma State (7-3, 4-3) at West Virginia (4-6, 2-5) | 11:00 A.M. On ESPN2 | Oklahoma State -7

Wait, did West Virginia really beat K-State last week? On the road? Believe it or not, with a new quarterback named Jarret Doege, the Mountaineers pulled off a huge upset, and now have a valid shot at making a bowl game.

Okie State has continued to run the table since figuring things out at Iowa State a few weeks ago. Chuba Hubbard and company should put up big numbers again, as WVU’s run defense is as bad as swiss cheese.

I’ll take the Cowboys all day, every day, and eat the 7 points for $100k.
