Brock Purdy is going to end up as the greatest quarterback in Iowa State history. There is no denying that right now. With each week, Purdy continues to torch opposing defenses as well as the Iowa State record books.
Last week, Purdy became the season record holder for most passing touchdowns, and is just 12 passing touchdowns away from the career passing touchdown mark. He also will break Seneca Wallace’s single season record in passing yards fairly early in the game on Saturday, as well as three other single season passing records.
Kansas, while still being Kansas, is slightly improved defensively, but they still tend to let opposing quarterbacks have their way. Especially the good ones. Thankfully for Brock Purdy, he’s pretty good. The Jayhawks allow around 8 yards per passing attempt, and have allowed roughly a 147 passer rating from the opposing quarterback on the season.
Brock Purdy is not going to have to win the game for Iowa State by himself in any shape or form. Kansas just isn’t good enough. The reason why he is my player to watch this week is simple. Enjoyment. Take it all in Cyclone fans. We have an elite player at the quarterback position, and probably the best ever. Take a second and enjoy what we’re witnessing.
