Iowa State Flatlines, Drops Another At Home

Short handed Baylor takes out Iowa State at home

NCAA Basketball: Iowa State at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa State had a big win on Saturday, they followed it up with an uninspired performance against Baylor. Dropping the game 73-69 in Hilton Coliseum.

There is no way to sugar coat this one. Baylor flat-out outplayed Iowa State on their home court and earned the victory. The Bears dominated Iowa State on the glass all night long creating numerous second chance opportunities all game long. Baylor outrebounded Iowa State 44-30, 18 of those rebounds came on the offensive glass.

Iowa State gained the lead four times in the second half, each time Baylor answered back and Iowa State just could not get the stop they needed to make any type of run. Iowa State shot 43% on the night, same goes for Baylor.

Marial Shayok led the way for Iowa State with 20 points, no other Cyclone scored over 10 on the night. Just an all around frustrating night for Steve Prohm and Cyclone fans everywhere.

Iowa State will now go on the road and try to pick up another win. The Big 12 regular season title looks far out in the distance but there is still plenty left to play for in the season.

Stay tuned to WRNL as the basketball season marches on.
