Brock Purdy is primed for another sensational season, except this time award lists, fans, and opposing teams are ready for it. Purdy was named to the Maxwell Award’s Preseason Watch List. The Maxwell Award goes to the nation’s most outstanding player, as voted by head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club.
Purdy, the Gilbert (AZ) native took over the reins against Oklahoma State (18/23, 318 yards, 4TDs | 19 rushes, 84 yards, 1 TD), and never looked back.
ESPN called him the Big 12’s Best True Freshman of the Year, and his story is just truly starting.
The meteoric rise over his freshman campaign led Iowa State to a 7-2 record with a season culminating in an Alamo Bowl appearance where he threw for 315 yards.
