Hi everybody!
My name is Dylan, I’m a senior at Iowa State University in advertising, and I’m one of the new interns at WRNL for this upcoming year.
I grew up in Manning, Iowa, which is about 100 miles west of Ames. I grew up in a house that had a basement which was more so a shrine to Iowa State than it was a living room. I was raised by two former Iowa State students, and followed my sister to Iowa State as well.
Coming to Iowa State always seemed like the destined spot for me. After a one semester detour at South Dakota State, I decided to transfer back to Iowa State to finish off my college career.
Admittedly, I’ve had pretty good luck for timing as far as Iowa State athletics go. I went through high school during the winningest period of Iowa State basketball with campus legends like Georges Niang, Naz Mitrou-Long, and Monte Morris leading the way.
Since I’ve been a student at Iowa State, both football seasons have ended in bowl games. Beating top five teams is just an every year occurrence for the Cyclones during my time here. And Matt Campbell is the hottest commodity in college football since Kliff Kingsbury’s jawline went pro.
However, the best time to be reporting for these Cyclones is now, and I’m ecstatic to have that opportunity.
