Hey Cyclone fans, I hope you are hungry. Hungry for some bacon because who the hell isn’t always hungry for bacon? Ok, it isn’t real bacon, but this is my feature for Iowa State recruiting tidbits I have during the week. Anything on my mind or anything that doesn’t go on my recruiting big boards will be posted here as “Bacon Bits”. Whether you like it crispy, chewy or somewhere in-between. Today, I will be talking about some key visitors heading to Ames this weekend. We are still just starting up on the basketball front so please be patient.
Visitors for the Cy-Hawk game
Now, I don’t have every single name that will visiting, but I feel like I have most of them covered. I reached out to as many contacts and players as I could in a short amount of time, and here is what I came up with. Keep in mind, all these guys are from the 2021 class.
2021 Class
*Two players had to cancel in 3-Star RB Rico Barfield (Saint Louis, MO) and 3-Star DT Mekhi Wingo (Saint Louis, MO). I spoke with both guys and it seems like they will reschedule their visits for a later date.
4-Star WDE TJ Bollers (Tiffin, IA): TJ is the number one player in the state of Iowa and after visiting the Hawkeyes last weekend, he will get a chance to see Iowa State in a much better environment.
3-Star ATH Marcus Morgan (Iowa City, IA): Right now, Iowa State remains his only power five offer.
3-Star DE Jeffrey Bowie (West Branch, IA): While Jeffrey has already been to both Iowa and Iowa State unofficially, all signs in his recruitment point to the Hawkeyes. Hopefully Iowa State can pick up some ground here.
3-Star ATH Seth Malcolm (Tabor, IA): Right now, Nebraska and Iowa State are his two power five offers. Also, he went to both Iowa’s and Iowa State’s junior days earlier this year.
TE AJ Rollins (Omaha, NE): AJ was a little torn on deciding between going to Ames or Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend and ultimately decided on going to Ames for this game. With that said, AJ has now been two Ames twice in the first three weeks of the season.
3-Star OT Connor Tollison (Jackson, MO): Last time I spoke with Connor, he didn’t get to talk to the staff much. Hopefully that will chance after this weekend.
3-Star OT Beau Stephens: Beau currently has five offers (Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and Iowa). He is still wide open in his recruitment and I am curious to get his thoughts on the visit after the weekend.
3-Star DT Doran Ray (Detroit, MI): Back in late July, Doran took a visit to Iowa State absolutely loved it and has been wanting to go back and will on Saturday.
3-Star WR Jaylin Noel (Kansas City, MO): Jaylin has a few other offers besides Iowa State (Kansas, Kansas State and Minnesota) but keep in mind, he is the teammate of current 2020 Iowa State commit Johnny Wilson.
