Bacon Bits: MOAR Iowa State Football Recruiting Notes

MOAR crootin bits

Hey Cyclone fans, I hope you are hungry. Hungry for some bacon because who the hell isn’t always hungry for bacon? Ok, it isn’t real bacon, but this is my feature for Iowa State football recruiting tidbits I have during the week. Anything on my mind or anything that doesn’t go on my recruiting big boards will be posted here as “Bacon Bits”. Whether you like it crispy, chewy or somewhere in-between. There is always something for everyone.

Since yesterday, there have been plenty of offers flying out so I will just go ahead and let you know what these new offers mean to all these guys. Plus, there was a quiet 2020 commit during Iowa State’s basketball game against Baylor.

2022 OG Griffin Scroggs (Buford, GA): “I was very happy and excited to get the offer.” And when I asked him about a potential visit, he said “For sure. My mom’s favorite car has always been a tractor.” Maybe one of my favorite responses of all time.

2020 Commitment

On Wednesday night, Iowa State received a commitment from kicker Ben Sauls out of Tipp City, Ohio. Ben visited Ames this past weekend and after decommitting from Boston College, he received several offers including Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. Although it won’t make you hoot and holler, I don’t need to explain why having a good kicker is important.
