Matt Blair, who was one of Iowa State’s greatest football players ever passed away today. He was 70 years old.

Blair helped lead Iowa State to their first ever bowl appearance in 1971 when the Cyclones finished the season 8-4. Blair was also an All American and All Big Eight selection after the 1973 season for Iowa State.
Blair would be drafted by the Vikings in the second round of the 1974 NFL draft. He would be selected to 6 Pro Bowls over the course of his 12 year NFL career. He was also selected to the NFL All-Pro Team in 1980. Blair would also help lead the Vikings to two Super bowl appearances.
Blair is a member of the Iowa State Fall of Fame (2012) and the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor (2012). He will always be remembered as on the greats in all of college and professional football.
