Early on it looked like the Landon Akers game. That combined with a nifty Kene touchdown run made for a compelling first scoring drive. Good things happen when Isheem Young hits the ball carrier. Kicking continues to be an annoying recurring issue. Cyclone defenders trying to tackle KU players on that next drive looked something like this. Boy, this team is not good at running the ball in short yardage situations. Tom Manning sending in the 3rd/4th and short plays in to Brock Purdy like: Iowa State continues to be elite when running the “opposing team misses a field goal” play. AGAIN WITH THE SPECIAL TEAMS? The coaching staff trying to clean up special teams play like: The rest of the game featured more Breece Hall running about in the Kansas secondary. The KU offense had a tough time moving all day.
