Steven Wirtel, former Iowa State longs-snapper and avid TOE hater, joined the Litecast for a fun and random conversation.
The Chicago-land native was more than happy to discuss White Sox baseball, the dumpster fire that is the Chicago Bears, the joyful news of Gar Forman being fired, and even Chicago area musicians. He also spoke with the crew about how he learned to long-snap, what being a specialist is like, and the back story of his recruitment to Ames.
The crew bombarded Steven with a host of questions about his time at Iowa State, which led to fun conversations about Matt Campbell’s personality, Brock Purdy’s mullet, what playing in Jack Trice Stadium is like, and a discussion about what his favorite moment in a Cyclone uniform was.
Steven provided a lot of awesome insight into the NFL Combine and Draft process, including some really cool quotes about what the NFL thinks of Matt Campbell and the Cyclones.
To close, the gang covered a host of random (and even a few ISU related) topics you are sure to love.
We were thrilled to have Steven on the Podcast, and look forward to having him on again soon.
