Memphis Transfer Tyler Harris Commits to Iowa State

Iowa State finally lands a transfer

A roster that needed a shot in the arm, got one. Saturday afternoon the Memphis transfer Tyler Harris committed to Iowa State.

“I picked Iowa State because of the coaching staff and their style of play,” Harris told Rivals.com. “They recruited me very well whenever I was in high school and the relationship never went away when I decided to go elsewhere. Coach Smalls did a tremendous job recruiting me and he made me feel like family.” Harris told Rivals this afternoon.

This past season, Harris averaged 8.7 points and just under two 2 rebounds. Harris was also a target for Iowa State right out of high school and he now finds his way to Ames. The NCAA is still deliberating the one time transfer rule, if that is not passed Harris will have to sit out one season. Iowa State still continues to be active in the graduate transfer market.
