Bacon Bits: Iowa State Football Recruiting Notes (6/1/20)

Two commitments this week.

The coaching staff spent a lot of time in Georgia this week, dishing out a handful of offers on Thursday.

They also were able to pick up two commitments from the 2021 class as they continue to shape out the roster.

2022 OLB Christopher Jackson (Toledo, OH)- Offers from Bowling Green and Toledo.

“I like how they’re building a strong program on the field and in the classroom. They prepare their guys for their future and not just the next football game. It’s like a family especially with the fans they come ready to cheer at the top of their lungs.”

Thursday, May 28

2022 ILB Devon Irving (Atlanta, GA)- Offers from Duke and Eastern Carolina.

2022 CB Marcus Allen (Marrieta, GA)- Offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest.

2022 ILB Kyle Efford (Dacula, GA)- Offer from Vanderbilt

2021 3-star WDE Jayden Gray (Haslet, TX)- Committed to North Texas.

“I’m blessed and honored to receive an offer from Iowa state! It has always been a dream of mine to play in the Big 12. My family and I love everything about their program! Especially how family oriented and how much they care about academics!”

2021 3-star CB Myles Purchase (Englewood, CO)- Offers from Army, Central Michigan, Colorado State, Kansas, Kansas State, UNLV and Wyoming

“The offer definitely means a lot. I’ve been in contact with the program for a couple months now and developed good relationships with multiple coaches. I like the fan base and the winning culture they have upheld over the past couple years.”

2021 DT Byron Murphy (Desoto, TX)- Offers from Baylor, Colorado, Georgia, Houston, Illinois, Memphis, Minnesota, Mississippi State and SMU.

“I like that coach Nate Scheelhaase said that he really liked my style of play, but I haven’t had a chance to really go into depth with the coaching staff about the program and what it has to offer. I’m just thankful for them giving me the opportunity to play football and for that I’m appreciative for that.”

2021 3-star WR Jaylin Noel (Kansas City, MO) Chose Iowa State over Nebraska.
