Steve Prohm likes point guards from Wisconsin, and he’s just picked up another one. Four-star Tyrese Hunter has commited to Iowa State as the first commit of the 2021 class.

Hunter held offers from, Texas Tech, Marquette, Florida, Creighton and Louisville. He has a composite ranking of 96 on 247sports. As it stands currently, Hunter would be the 8th-highest rated recruit to join Iowa State since 247sports started their rankings.
Hunter is known for being a big time scorer, but also can distribute the ball at high rates. He’s got a solid jumper from outside, but Hunter is a really high level athlete that excels at finishing around the rim, despite his 6’-1” frame. At 160 pounds, he’ll need to add strength once he gets to the college level, but he’s got an excellent foundation to build on.
