Former Iowa State running back David Montgomery escaped an ACL injury but will miss some time. They Bears star is now expected to be sidelined for about a month due to a knee sprain sustained in Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions.
Per source, tests showed Bears RB David Montgomery has a knee sprain that’s expected to keep him out 4-5 weeks. Not season-ending, but Bears will be without their starting RB for a while.

To date, Montgomery has been the Bears best offensive weapon. He currently sits 5th in the league in rushing with 309 yards. He rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s win. Montgomery may see time in the injured reserves to allow him to fully heal and come back after the Bears bye week in week 10.
