The Iowa State Cyclones defeated the Texas Longhorns by a final score of 30-7 in a capacity and rowdy Jack Trice Stadium.
The game got off to an odd start, with the Cyclones getting the benefit of the doubt on a fumble review. The drive would stall and end in a Mevis field goal.
The rest of the first half was a defensive struggle with punts a plenty. Texas would break the game open with a 14 play touchdown drive, moving the ball similarly to West Virginia a week prior.
Though the Cyclones looked flat on offense and were bad on special teams in the first half, the second half featured a Cyclone squad dominant in all phases of the game.
Breece Hall finally broke loose to start the second half, scampering into the end zone on a 47 yard touchdown run. After a few punts, Tom Manning got in his bag of tricks and pulled out a wide receiver pass, which resulted in a long touchdown pass from X to Tarique Milton.
After forcing yet another Texas three and out, a long Hall run and Kolar catch resulted in Breece Hall scoring on a 2 yard run.
Texas, at this point, wanted absolutely nothing the Cyclones were giving them, and a rowdy crowd willed the Cyclones to close out the victory.
