Last Time Out
Iowa State is in a bit of a slump. The Cyclones are 2-4 in their last six. The slump continued in Norman. Iowa State had beaten the Sooners in a close game 64-63. but couldn’t do it twice. Iowa State fell 67-61. The Joens sisters had a combined 37 points, but the rest of the team only had 24. The Cyclones brought the cold weather, and the cold shooting from Iowa shooting only 25% from 3-pt land, and just 40% from the field. Oklahoma’s Madi Williams led all scorers with 27.
TCU at first glance, looks like a middle of the road team. They’re 8-9, but all 9 losses have been from fellow Big 12 schools. The Horned Frogs are sitting at ninth in the standings. The Horned Frogs are pretty dependent on their point total. They tend to win lower scoring games. If it’s a shootout, they struggle to keep up their end of the firepower.
Opponent Player to Watch
Without a doubt, it’s Lauren Heard the senior guard out of Denton, Texas. She can get buckets at a huge volume, She’s averaged 26 points in her last three outings, not to mention averaging 6 boards and 5 assists a game on the season. Unfortunately, Heard hasn’t had a lot of help from her supporting cast. She’ll be a defensive emphasis for sure, because she can score enough to keep the Horned Frogs in this game.
What Will Happen
Iowa State rollllllllls. I think Iowa State takes out some pent up frustration on the Frogs. If the threes are hitting, the ‘clones are winning.
