The Big 12 v. Big East battle raged on in Chicago between the Cyclones and possibly the worst P6 basketball team this year. What started as an ugly game for the Cyclones ended in a track meet. Iowa State turned DePaul over 17 times and really got out in transition to take advantage. DePaul seemed sped up and uncomfortable the last 75% of the game.
There was also some great offensive performance starting with Tamin Lipsey who finished with a triple-double, something he might do more than once this season. He tallied 15 points, 10 assists, and his 10th rebound coming in the final minute of the game.
Tre King and Keshon Gilbert both finished with 20+ points, taking turns dominating the DePaul defense. Jackson Paveletzke had his best game as a Cyclone, providing Iowa State with big minutes in the second half where they’d begin to pull away.
Iowa State now sets their sights on Cy-Hawk this coming week. That one tips off in Hilton at 6:30 PM December 7th.
